At the end of my final undergraduate semester at Asbury University, I had the unbelievable privilege of helping compose musical scores for a few student films, including Katie Oostman’s “Lay Me Down”, a spiritual thriller of sorts set in the 19th century about a young man and his struggle to care of his mentally-disturbed sister. Borrowing elements from a hymn called “Flee as a Bird” by Mary Shindler, I composed a score performed by myself and four other students. Though the film is not yet fully completed, below is a section of the music we recorded – enjoy!
