In the fall semester of 2013, I joined two of Asbury’s choirs in performing Ola Gjielo’s “Serenity (O Magum Mysterium)”, playing the song’s cello solo line. The piece was used in Asbury’s Christmas concert, as it is a sort of Christmas-related text about the animals proclaiming Christ’s birth in the manger. The recording below was performed on November 15, 2013, at Christ Church Cathedral in Lexington, Kentucky, where I played alongside ECCO, Asbury’s alumni choir.
